Thinking of Austin as he would be celebrating his second birthday today. His life was unexpectedly cut short but he is celebrating with our Heavenly Father. We have always believed children are a gift. They are given to parents for a period of time for us to love, guide and protect.

Sometimes we get to keep them for many years. Sometimes, just weeks or days.

In either case they belong to God. We are glad for the time we got with Austin. Of course, we wish it would have been longer and we wonder what life would have been like. But, what we do know for certain is this- God loves us and always does what is right, even if we can’t understand it. We try to have faith.

So we wait. One day we will see him again and make up for the birthdays we spent apart.
