We moved back to Bartow with the hopes of finally planting some roots after slowly migrating south for the last 12 years. While it took a little longer than we hoped, we have finally purchased a home in town. We love the area and the neighbors, and the house…for the most part. The house is actually great, it just hasn’t been updated in forever. So, bring on the remodel! I will document some of the work here. We are doing most of it ourself which is it’s own type of adventure.

See below for a couple before pictures.

So the work started this weekend. The first goal was to strip out all of the carpet and padding. My brother Dan spent the week scraping all of the popcorn texture off of the ceiling. So, once that was completed we began preparing the walls and sweeping up all of the mess that was left from the ceiling and carpet tack strips. The biggest job was taking out the mirrored wall. It was glued into place and took out some of the drywall when it came down. Pretty sure I will have about 70 x 7 years of bad luck. 🙂
